Card features

What are the main differences between Esso Card™ and WEX Card?

With the WEX Card, you’ll gain access to over 1400 service stations across Belgium, more than double the number available with your Esso Card™. The WEX Card also features:

  • An improved online portal, offering the same features you’re used to on Esso Card™ Online but with tighter purchase restrictions, giving you greater control over how to use your card.
  • Improved online management tools for easy account and transaction monitoring as well as extra flexibility to make changes after your card has been set up.
  • 2 card security system

Can I get a WEX Card and keep using my Esso Card™ as well?

No, when you switch to a WEX Card we will begin the process to close your Esso Card™ account. You can still use your Esso Card™ for a further 30 days while you transition to using your new WEX Card.

What are the key features of the WEX Card?

An extended network – With the WEX Card, you’ll gain access to over 1,400 service stations across Belgium, more than double the number available with your Esso Card™. You’ll still have access to the same Esso network. In addition the WEX Card is accepted at Texaco, Esso, Q8, Gabriëls, Power, Maes, G&V, Octa+ and IDS in Belgium and a further 6,050 petrol stations throughout Europe.

Web Portal – Our online management system provides all current information on cards, transactions, bills and limits.

Greater flexibility – The WEX Card can be personalised to suit your needs. For example, it is possible to block cards, create new ones and set time and country limits. You can easily choose many parameters yourself and at your convenience on the web portal giving you greater control over how to use your card.

Security – It is possible to block stolen or lost cards 24/7. It is also possible to set a fuel intake limit per card.

Can I have a pre-pay card?

We are not able to offer a pre-pay option on our WEX Card.

How does the enhanced security with dual cards work?

This is an optional feature where each driver has a unique driver card and each vehicle has a unique vehicle card. Refuelling is only possible with the combined use of the driver and vehicle cards. Ideal when your drivers use several vehicles. The dual cards mean you can see transparent, detailed reports for the driver and for the vehicle on the GO web portal.

Can I still use my existing Esso Card™ while transitioning to the WEX Card?

Yes, during the transition period. When you switch to the WEX Card, the process of closing your Esso Card™ account will begin. During the 30-day transition period, you can continue to use your Esso Card™ until you fully transition to using your WEX Card.

What will happen to my existing Esso Card™ account and its associated benefits?

Your new WEX Card account will have the same commercial and credit conditions as your previous Esso Card™ account. Your existing Esso Card™ account and its associated benefits will no longer be active after the transition to the WEX Card. Specifically your Esso Extras loyalty points will cease to be active.

What additional benefits can I expect from the WEX Card?

With the WEX Card you can fill up with diesel, gasoline and LPG, but also newer alternative fuels such as LNG, CNG and HVO100 (Hydrotreated Vegetable Oil) available in over 10+ sites in Belgium. AdBlue is also available. On the GO web portal you can specify the fuels that can be refueled by a fuel card. Do you want to refuel with alternative fuels? Our account managers will be happy to advise you.
